Claim back my username

  Hello Engineer,

  I just deleted my old account with username ‘ajbozdar’, and before deleting I changed the ID to ‘kuxivu’ so I could get back my username on existing blog. However, I am unable to change my username ‘ajbozdarwrites’ to ‘ajbozdar’?

  Could you please guide me how to claim back my username?

  Hey there,

  Unfortunately, as you can see here in the highlighted section at the beginning: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/ once a username is changed it will no longer be available for you or anyone else to use.

  As an alternative you do have the ability to change your display name to anything you like. For more information on this please review the info in the following section: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname
