  Hi.

  I have a .wordpress.com name I want to use, but its claimed. However the blog in question when I went to look at has been deleted. Is there anyway the address could expire and I would be able to use it?

  No, I’m sorry but here at WordPress.com blog URLs are not recycled. See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
