Claiming a cancelled domain name

  Looking to create a new blog address: forbetterorworse.wordpress.com, but WordPress is telling me that the site already exists. However, when checking the actual URL (forbetterorworse.wordpress.com), I see the following:

  forbetterorworse.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.

  Is there a way I can claim this domain considering the authors have deleted it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey alcueto –

  Unfortunately not. Once a domain name is deleted, it can no longer be used by the creator or anyone else:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  I would suggest checking to see if you can buy the custom domain name without the wordpress.com It might be available! Then you can map it to your WP.com site.
