Claims Domain is Expired
-
This is the message I’m getting on my http://www.valindir.com account:
“Your subscription to valindir.com has expired or is about to expire.
Valindir ‘valindir.com’ expires on September 3, 2014 Renew nowHide for 7 days”
It is not September 3rd, 2014, and yet when I go to http://www.valindir.com it is refusing to load because it claims the domain is expired.
This is very upsetting and embarrassing, especially as I haven’t received any emails, but mostly because I AM NOT EXPIRED. Please tell me what is going on.

Hi there,
Your domain mapping upgrade at WordPress.com actually hasn’t expired (good through 9/3/14 like you mentioned. You can see that here:

In this case, the expiration notice is from your domain registrar, which appears to be ENOM. The registrar is where you purchased the domain originally. In order for the domain to work correctly, you will need to maintain both the registration at ENOM and the mapping at WordPress.com. Does that make sense?

Could I just purchase the domain through WordPress and have it continue to work as normal?

Hi!
In order to do that, you would first need to cancel the domain from ENOM. This isn’t ideal because there would be a period of time after you cancel the domain and before it’s available to be purchased at WordPress.com where your site would be down (normally 2-3 weeks). I would recommend renewing at ENOM instead!
