Clarification & Image of Checkout/Discount Issue
-
Hello, I’d like to address an error in the question I sent to your experts about 20 minutes ago, and provide a clearer explanation of what I was asking. Here’s my original question:
‘Hello – I applied a discount found online for a free first year for my chosen domain, dougcrowley.com (not dougcrowleydotcom.wordpress.com, the real thing – and the order summary lists it as such), but I’m confused as your site is asking me to pay now. Is there a problem, or have I misunderstood something? Thanks for your help!’
**Correction: It should say ‘ … my chosen domain, douglascrowley.com (not douglascrowleydotcom.wordpress.com, but the real thing – and the order summary lists it as such) …’ – notice the correct domain contains my full first name Douglas (douglascrowley.com) rather than Doug, as in my original question. Sorry!
The rest of it still stands, but it may help to see what I’m talking about. Here’s a screengrab of the Order Summary listing the two items that seem to me to be contradicting each other, and are why I’m confused as to why I’m already being asked to pay now instead of after my free first year:

(Link goes to the image from my Google Drive; certainly safe as it doesn’t involve actually opening the image, but you’re a website handyman so I’m sure you already knew that…)
Thanks again! Looking forward to getting started with WordPress!

Hi @doughingham, the domain is free for the first year with any paid plan. So if you buy the Personal plan for $48, the domain comes free for the first year.
Hoping this helps!
