Clarifications on Sponsored posts

  I am a solution provider and I also run a local store. Besides, I have friends who run small businesses and who would also like me to feature their businesses on my blog. Would i violate the TOS if I feature my services or store, or those of friends on my blog and give their contract numbers or email, or links to their websites?

  That said, this is my opinion:
  If you are providing services then it should be fine to post about what you do. As long as you are not being paid (sponsored) by your friends’ businesses you should be fine posting about them, or even allowing them to be guest authors or contributors.

  Howdy!

  Blog posts promoting your friends’ businesses are just fine on your WordPress.com blog provided they meet these two criteria:

  1) You are not being compensated for the post

  2) The business being advertised is relevant to your own blog

  It sounds like neither of these will be a problem from what you’re proposing, so you should be good to go. If you have an example of a promotional post that you’re wondering about, I would be happy to take a look over it and let you know if there are any problems.
