    If I want to move from my current hosting company to wordpress, what are the fees for the following:

    Domain parking – .co.za
    Domain owning – .com

    Are there registration fees, or just the annual $18.00? What does this cover?

    If you’d like to use a custom domain as the primary address for your WordPress.com site, you’d need to purchase one of our paid plans:

    With any of our plans, you can register a domain for free for the first year. The price after the first year will depend on the domain’s extension (TLD):

    If you already have a domain registered elsewhere, you will be able to map I for free:

    Hi,

    I was under the impression I could just do the mapping packaging though word press.

    However, every time I log in it is asking me to but a plan, please assist. I am not as tech savvy as you are and I do need some clarification on this.

    I have a company that does my domain registration and hosting.

    I am trying to compare prices and I have looked through all your articles and I am not finding all the information I am requiring.

    This is what I understand through the articles:
    1. Personal plan is $4 per monthly billed annually which is $48 per year
    2. First year is free domain – mine is .com
    3. After the first year the fee for .com is $18/year
    4. What is the fee for .co.za just to park it?

    I am unable to understand how the mapping works, I thought I was able to just do mapping through you guys with a fee attached, I cannot find this though as I can only find the plans that offer the domain.

    Please can you assist

    Hi there,

    What you found through the articles is correct. With any of our paid plans, you receive a domain credit. That credit can be used towards mapping your domain. The $18/year applies to domain registration through us. As staff-mckluskey stated, since your domain is registered elsewhere, mapping is free with the purchase of a paid plan.

    Therefore, you can purchase any of the paid plans that work for you and follow the instructions here to map your domain:
