Classic Dashboard

    Hello,
    Today I logged into my site and immediately there was a message that came up to have everything accessed without leaving the dashboard.

    I don’t like it. I want my old/classic wordpress admin back, however, I don’t even see the wordpress admin option anymore. Please help me restore my dashboard back to the way it was.

    Hi there!

    We’re combining the Calypso and WP-Admin sidebars into one that’s consistent across both dashboards. This should help reduce confusion when navigating between Calypso and WP-Admin features.

    Where there’s a duplicate feature on WordPress.com, we’re letting you choose whether to default to Calypso or WP-Admin, so please take a moment to go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and set your link preference there. Here’s a screenshot: https://d.pr/i/IhfIw8

    If something feels off, please let us know what you clicked on, what you expected, and what happened instead. If you can share a bit about your typical use, too, that would be helpful.

    I copied and pasted the notice below that I found after your response when I went into account settings. Is there any way I can get back the old version because I don’t like the combined sidebar.

    I like the way things appear and show up within the classic dashboard including how the stats appear. With the prior admin I did not have to select the newer stats and managing version unless I chose to. Now I have no choice. I prefer for it to not be combined unless it has the classic look/design.

This update will unify various parts of WordPress.com allowing you to more easily navigate and get everything you need from the left sidebar and updated menus. Advanced admin features are in your account settings.

    At the moment, the only options we have are this or the more advanced view, which can be toggled on following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/account-settings/#dashboard-appearance
