  How can I get the Classic Editor tool bar to stay in view when scrolling down the document

  The site I need help with is williamrosssmith.wordpress.com.

  Hi there,

  I’m not sure I understand. On my test site, if I place all my text within the classic block and then scroll, I see the toolbar will stay in view at the top of my screen no matter how far I scroll down.

  Are you seeing something different on your end when you scroll? If so is it an issue that affects only a specific post, or any post you edit? Thanks for the additional info!

  The video you provided is what I need, but the toolbar disappears as I scroll down in my case. It is the same for all posts, not just one.

  Hi there @weebonom do you mean the Classic Editor or the Classic Block?

  If you mean the Classic Editor available in WP Admin, this issue was reported by Staff here https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/classic-editor-scroll-bar-for-text-missing/#post-3631619 and is waiting for some developer love. FWIW this apparently affects Firefox.

  The suggestion in that thread is to disable the full-height editor and distraction-free functionality.

  Thank you for your response, I think you have given me the solution by disabling the “Distraction free Functionality”. This has been a major disincentive for my editing for quite a while, I am grateful.

  Have these options been removed from the WP Admin Classic Editor’s Screen Options?

  FWIW I am again encountering the issue of the Editor toolbar being fixed at the top and not scrolling with the post/page, but only intermittent on some sites. Is this possibly theme-dependent?

  We’ll look into that, but to be clear, the Classic Editor is no longer being developed, and it will eventually be removed.

  Thanks, staff-blorbo, I’m aware of that. :)

  Just adding that, curiously, the distraction-free icon appears on the right in the toolbar for the WP Admin Classic Editor (not in Screen Options, sorry!) when I’m using Brave Version 1.26.74, but is missing in FF 89.0.2.

  Regardless, I’ll keep my eye on the github issue that staff-doublebassd linked to in the other thread. Thanks!

  I too have found that the “Distraction Free Writing” option does not appear on the page when creating a new post
