Classic Editor
-
I notice the Classic Editor no longer appears as an option for writing blog posts. Yet I find it useful particularly for editing blocks of paragraphs. I write about the Bible and when I insert a psalm for example each line comes up as a single paragraph. This means each paragraph has to be formatted. It also means final appearance is not so good – it is too spaced out. Have you any suggestions. I have just seen a note below telling me how to pursue the classic editor. I’ll read that but wonder if you have any suggestions for formatting psalms in the current editor.

Hi,
The Classic Editor is still available on Posts and Pages. To create a new post using the Classic Editor, please click the Posts section in the admin dashboard, select All Posts, then click the small arrow next to Add New (top left part of the window) and select Classic Editor from the menu.
You can also edit existing posts using the Classic Editor: hover over the post you wish to edit on the main Posts page, and click on Classic Editor (instead of Edit).
Finally, you can “mix” both editors. Inside a post that uses the Block Editor, you can add a Classic block, featuring the old interface.
Having said all that, please note that WordPress.com is planning to eventually retire the Classic Editor in favor of the Block Editor, so it is recommended to start experimenting with it.
Here’s a support guide covering the changes:
