Classic Editor

Hello,
I see Classical Editor option disappeared from my free site above I’ve blogged on for years. What are my options? Do I need to upgrade to a personal plan for this wordpress site to restore Classical Editor, which worked fine, unlike its Gutenberg replacement. I also see option for managing plugins seems to have disappeared with no option to eg Deactivate Gutenberg? Thank you.

No the Classic Editor hasn’t been removed or whatever, it is still there – https://wordpress.com/support/editors/classic-editor-guide/
No you never had the possibility on the Free Plan to manage plugins and the Gutenberg plugin is the WordPress “block editor” as a plugin.
However the Classic editor is getting less and less compatible with recent themes as they are all written to be compatible with our Block Editor. Using an old and outdated theme makes your site like something from the eighties and certainly is unreadable on a tablet or smartphone as old themes aren’t responsive.
So leave those good old days behind you: switch to our Block Editor and move to a more recent theme. Your followers will be gratefull.

Nah the new block editor is awful compared to the classic editor:-)
