  • Hi Alan,

I’ve set the Classic Editor as the default editor for your site.
    I hope that helps :)

How do I get mine sent to classic editor? This block editor is way too difficult and doesn’t work at all for me.

I also wanted to use layoutstepout.wordpress.com as my name and it says it’s taken by someone else but it’s not.

    Right now it’s layoutstepout1992.wordpress.com

  • @layoutstepout1992,

Your site at layoutstepout1992.wordpress.com is using the new Maywood theme. That theme was specifically designed for the block editor, and doesn’t work with the classic editor, so the classic editor is not available if you’re using that theme.

Go to My Site ->Design ->Themes, scroll down and click the button saying Show All Themes, and activate one of our older themes listed there, and you’ll have the option to switch to the classic editor as explained here:

    WordPress Editor

I also wanted to use layoutstepout.wordpress.com as my name and it says it’s taken by someone else but it’s not.

That site doesn’t exist yet, but it’s reserved – only the person who owns the username, layoutstepout, can register that address. There is no way to reassign a reserved site address to a different account.
