Classic Editor?
-
I am very frustrated right now. I am NOT interested in the new “block editor” and wish to continue using the Classic Editor. I have tried the block editor and I can’t stand it. I’m a writer. I don’t think in blocks. I like the Classic editor because it works better for people like me who just want to write, not post chunks of information and pictures. I think you are really doing writers a disservice by forcing us to adapt to an editor that really isn’t conducive to writing.
Of course, I know this is beating a dead horse since I already know you will keep pushing this block editor, whether people want it or not, and eventually phase out the classic editor.
Here’s my problem. I don’t want to use the block editor, but I can’t find anything anywhere giving me the option to use the classic editor. I know you have said it’s there, and all we have to do is click it on, but I have looked EVERYWHERE and cannot find the option to use Classic. I am very upset and annoyed.

Hi, I made a post on a similar theme earlier, to no avail. I did however find the Classic Block, which lets you write in one long stream as the classic editor used to. It just doesn’t let you then add images into the text after the fact. I don’t work here, and I’m not a developer. Just thought I’d share a little of what I found as I was equally frustrated by the changes too.

Lucky, I share(d) your frustration. The new editor is very confusing at first. I was really irritated at its being forced on me. However, if you play around with it a few hours — yes, hours — you’ll find it quite manageable and even superior in many ways.
You do not need to use blocks, and the “classic editor” part is pretty much laughable.
Dedicate an afternoon to fooling with it, and it will become clear enough. I promise. Good luck. Because they ain’t gonna change it.

Hi,
You can try to access the Classic editor using this link.

There is also a Classic block that is similar to the Classic editor.

The classic editor is being retired.
Here is information about how to use blocks.

Using blocks with a little practice you may find is not as difficult as it might seem.
I am a volunteer but maybe some of this information may help you.
