Classic Editor
-
Is it possible to stick with the classic editor and never use the block editor, or do I have to start looking for a different platform for my blog? Granted it’s been a free WordPress service for years and I appreciate that, and have recently considered paying for it annually in order to get rid of the ugly ads, but now that the block editor is disrupting the quick and easy functions I’ve become accustomed to, and it seems like down the line I may no longer have the option to use the classic editor, I’ve begun to think about putting my blog elsewhere. Is there a setting that is for classic editor, one that will leave it there so I don’t have to keep choosing it every time I write an entry and several times throughout each entry? It’s a pain in the ass.
Sincerely,

Hi there,
If you prefer to edit with the classic tools, we recommend the Classic Block, which is a block you can add to “insert” the classic editor inside of the newer block editor, and has the familiar formatting tools you are used to: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
but now that the block editor is disrupting the quick and easy functions I’ve become accustomed to
Can you tell us a bit more about what is causing you trouble with the block editor? I’d be happy to get that feedback in front of our developers so we can consider it for future versions of the block editor, so it is easier for you to use. Thanks for the additional info!
