Classic editor

BRING BACK THE CLASSIC EDITOR PLEASE. THE NEW ONE IS AWFUL AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? I AM GOING TO LEAVE THIS SITE AND MOVE MY WHOLE BLOG SOMEWHERE ELSE OTHERWISE BECAUSE IT IS SO OVERWHELMINGLY ANNOYING TO USE. Thanks.

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
We also have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!

Hi,
Do you really need feedback about the blocks system ? Meanwhile thousands of users claim the classic editor back ? Oh, please ! Classic editor is a wysiwyg, everybody can use it, even people who are not “webdesign friendly”. The new system is unfriendly, too complex, illogical and unuseful. The lack of time *just* to post a simple article is a nonsense in 2021.
Writing an article is simple. You write, you post. Nobody needs blocks, just a wysiwyg.
Keep the block system ; but *also* keep classic editor and let your users choose.
“That” is simple.
Thanks for your attention.

I second this. There are many problems after the forced upgrade recently. E.g. even with the classic blocks, I cannot erase image borders and move them freely as with the classic editor and all the classic posts have now layout issues.

I’ve been using the “/wp-admin” tip but it’s obvious that this solution won’t last : it’s already difficult to use the Classic Editor even by this way and all is done to drive the user to the new Editor (especially if you don’t want to)
Actually, there are layouts problems : The police of my last article is not “formatted” in the “police by default” of my template (last articles a few days ago were OK).
Using blocks when you copy-paste your text from Open Office (for example) is not intuitive when you try to formate the content (line spacing, etc), or when you want to insert an image. Before, you could insert an image by simply positioning the cursor in the text. Now, you have to create a special block to insert an image and, then, format the image : too complicated, not intuitive and too long.
The icones of the block menu (and the menu itself) are… cryptic ? Some terms don’t mean nothing for many users.
I mean, we shouldn’t have to search in the WP support to understand each new fonctionality (and that’s what I’m doing nowadays…) : there is no better proof that the new system is not fitted as it should be because it excludes a part of users who don’t need these new features and don’t understand them.

I love classic editor. The block editor sucks. It’s not that I hate change, the classic editor is better. Listen to your members.
