Classic Editor
-
Hello.
At some point over the past few days, my blog has lost the option to create blog posts in ‘Classic Editor’ mode. I find Block Editor difficult to use; it’s counter-intuitive and writing a new post now takes me three times as long with ten times the stress.
Am I missing something – is there a way to get Classic Editor back (has it just been hidden from sight) or am I being forced to upgrade to a business plan so that I can install the relevant plug-in?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi
You can still use the Classic Editor use the link below to learn how
https://wordpress.com/support/classic-editor-guide/
The classic editor is being retired in this document WordPress.com Classic Editor Deprecation FAQs gives information about the changes to the editors

Unified Navigation is also useful information to know.

You can use the Classic block that is similar to the classic editor

Hi Craig,
I agree that the Block Editor is difficult to use, counter-intuitive, and far more time-consuming than the Classic Editor.
WordPress.com has recently combined the Calypso and WP-Admin sidebars into one, as described here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unified-navigation/. The damage can be partially remedied by choosing the “Show advanced dashboard pages” at Account Settings > Dashboard Appearance.

Yes, it has been hidden : ( However, the Classic Editor is still available to all WordPress.com users, and it’s still free. Here’s the Classic Editor support page, and the recently revised How to Access the Classic Editor section of that support page.
