Classic Editor

Any link to the old wp-admin page from which I could still use the editor prior before it became ‘Classic Editor’? (Why is WP so terrible to use?)

It sounds like your account has been switched to the unified navigation which is being rolled out on WordPress.com. You can read about this here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unified-navigation/
If your account has been switched and you used to access the Classic Editor through WP Admin, you’ll need to turn on the Advanced Navigation in your Account Settings -> Dashboard Appearance to access the Classic Editor: https://wordpress.com/support/account-settings/#dashboard-appearance
The Classic Editor is currently available, but in the long run, you’ll want to give the full Block Editor or the Classic Block a workout. The more you use it, the easier it will become. We have a great guide here specifically for writers and bloggers that you can find here:

Hi. WordPress.com now refers to the old WP-Admin editor as the Classic Editor. This editor is still available to all WordPress.com users. Here’s the Classic Editor support page, and the recently revised How to Access the Classic Editor section of that support page.
Why is WP so terrible to use?
Aside from the never ending battle to undo or workaround the “improvements” WP.com foists upon us relentlessly in campaign after campaign, it’s wonderful here.
