classic editor by default

I want to use classic editor by default but I can’t find the correct setting …
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @schizofrenico, it’s set per blog: just create a new post or edit one, then switch to the classic editor by using the three dots in the upper left.
You should stay in that editor until you switch to the new one, at which point it will be the new default for that site. Hoping this helps!

From the draft post page, the only thing I see under the three dots is “Visual Editor” and “Code Editor”. There’s some text on the right that says “Switch to Classic Editor” but nothing happens. I really think the interface moved me to New and Better with Learning Curve without any action on my part.

Does it not match the screenshot under “Will I still be able to use the old editor?” at https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/#frequently-asked-questions ?

Yes – silly me, I was looking for “switch to classic editor” under “Editor” on that menu. Instead I find it at the very bottom under “Tools”. In the meantime, I have also discovered that if I bring up a full list view of drafts similar to the bulk action screen for posts, hovering over a title shows an option to open it in classic view.

I don’t see three dots or anything about editors under tools. I really would prefer to use Classic as I can set categories with it.

Hi @ourbottomsburn,
I see that you switched to the classic editor.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you. I’m happy to help.
