Classic Editor features disappearing
-
I have been using WordPress for years and prefer the Classic Editor to the newer editors. First, the ‘justify’ alignment option disappeared, which means that I have to publish in the Classic Editor and then edit in the newer editor to justify the text. Then the ‘underline’ format disappeared. Now, I can’t find spelling/grammar check on any of the editors. I usually proofread my posts before publishing, but the checker highlighted mistakes I might miss. I understand that you want to give your bloggers multiple editor options, but I really hope you understand that some of us like the original editor. I would like to see the tools available on all editors so that I don’t have to take extra steps to format my posts the way I like. Is there any way that you could put the justify alignment and spelling/grammar back on the Classic Editor?
Thanks for listening!

Underline and Justify are still available with the classic editor via the keyboard shortcuts button (the “?” on the second row).
The spellchecker has indeed been removed. It seems it was supplied by a third party and was no longer being maintained. (I haven’t tried but I’m told that most
browsers these days have a spellcheck option that can be enabled). -
