Classic EDITOR has disappeared. How can I get it back?
-
On the dashboard, with Add a New Post, the Classic Editor has disappeared.
I cannot post a proper post without it. I just get quick editor after saving my draft.
I have tried all I know. I am using Chrome browser. This just started yesterday.

It is no longer recommended to use the Classic Editor as it is no longer fully compatible with wordpress and several themes. Instead it’s advised to use the Classic Block.

Hi @flyingcuttlefish I know you have several sites on WordPress.com. Is this happening only on a particular site or on all of them?
The “Quick Edit” you mentioned is in the Posts Dashboard under the Post Title when you hover your cursor over the post title. If you don’t see that, could you take a screenshot and share it here. Thanks.

This quick edit is hideous. I wish to use HTML, a standard language.
I cannot use links, do any formatting or get images inserted with the stupid new quick edit. There is nothing wrong with the old Classic Editor. It always worked with my theme.
I want someone from WordPress to restore my dashboard but they are absent as usual.
They are hiding behind AI like everyone else these days.

“Quick Edit” is not a post editor. It allows you to adjust several post settings without needing to open the full post to change them. https://wordpress.com/support/edit-a-page-or-posts-settings/#make-quick-edits
Again, we can’t see what you are seeing, so sharing a screenshot might help.
You still haven’t mentioned whether this is happening on a particular site or on all your sites. Knowing this will help us understand if this is a localized issue.
Have you already tried the browser troubleshooting steps to see if that changes anything? https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/

:)
The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Thanks for your help anyway!
