Classic Editor Option

    I HATE the new blocks editor it’s complicated to use and not at all user friendly. I am sure I speak for many bloggers when I ask we are given the option to return to the simpler Classic option.

    I’ve been with WordPress for 10 years and was perfectly happy until now.

    PLEASE, give the non techies amongst us the choice of which editor we use.

    Hi there,

    For now you can still use the classic editor in WP-Admin at https://pigletinportugal.wordpress.com/wp-admin/, but that also won’t stay available indefinitely.

    The block editor has been the default editor in the open source WordPress software, which we also use here on WordPress.com, since version 5.0 that was released in December 2018, and it’s not going away. Eventually that will be the only editor supported on WordPress.com, so I want to encourage you to try it.

    Yes, it takes some getting used to. But once you get used to it you’ll find it allows you to do much more with your content than the classic editor ever did.

    Hi, thanks for your reply but we tried to use blocks on our other WordPress account http://www.flashesof brilliance.org and it was impossible to format poetry using blocks. Eventually, we were forced to add the classic editor plugin.

    Yes, it takes some getting used to. But once you get used to it you’ll find it allows you to do much more with your content than the classic editor ever did.

    But that’s the point we don’t want to do more we have everything we need with classic. :)

    I can understand that.

    Let’s see if we can get blocks to the point where you can use them as you like, so that when the classic editor isn’t available, blocks will be ready for you. Now is a great time to work on things like that.
