Classic Editor option for new posts has vanished from all my websites!

I am unable to publish articles with the new editor since the classic editor has disappeared. Can you restore it immediately? If not, I will be migrating to another host. This is non-negotiable.

I just replied to another user on this same problem…. same thing happened to me. I created a new post as usual on January 11th and edited a typo in it yesterday, using the Classic Editor as I have for the past 10 years and 250+ posts. Now it seems to be gone.
This is unacceptable. Especially since I just renewed my WP blog on the multi-year basis. If the Classic Editor is well and truly gone except for people who have Business + plans (mine is a Personal one, not a freebie) and thus can install plugins, then I too will need to look into a self hosted option. Not having the Classic/Rich Text Editor is a dealbreaker fo rme but I can’t afford $300/year for a Business plan! Especially since I do not need ANY of the other things that a Business plan includes.

Same thing happened to me. Had the classic editor yesterday – today it’s gone. I cannot stand the block editor and I’m going to have to find another way to blog. This is also non-negotiable for me. And so disappointing!

I have visited my websites today. There is still no response from WordPress or restoration of the Classic Editor publishing functions. Until this is fully restored, my websites will be silent. In the meantime, I have established myself on another service that most professional journalists here have migrated to. It’s up to WordPress whether I return. The Classic Editor remains an essential required feature for my continued work and it is non-negotiable.

UPDATE: The Classic Editor just reappeared now on my primary website. I am waiting for it to be restored on the rest.

A very helpful support engineer that I was able to chat to has given me a work-around however the old classic editor is being decommissioned and while the block editor only takes a quarter of the content in my existing (many) posts and pages, this is still a problem.
