Classic editor plugin

Why must I pay $300 to install what used to be free? I just want to blog easily and the block editor makes writing poetry impossible!

Hi,
You can still use the classic editor. It is going to be removed.

The classic block is similar to the classic editor.

Please read the support document WordPress Editor for Writers & Bloggers that may help you learn how to still write poetry using the new editor

Hi there, there’s been a change in navigation on WordPress.com. You can read about this here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unified-navigation/ and you can leave feedback for Staff in that same thread. More info also at https://wordpress.com/support/account-settings/#dashboard-appearance
If your account has been switched to the unified navigation and you formerly accessed the Classic Editor through WP Admin, you’ll need to turn on the Show advanced dashboard pages in your Account Settings> Interface Settings> Dashboard Appearance https://wordpress.com/me/account Make sure to click the “Save Interface Settings” button towards the bottom, below the thumbnails of the dashboard color schemes.
You can see more about this in our support guide at https://wordpress.com/support/classic-editor-guide/#how-to-access-the-classic-editor
While the Classic Editor is currently available, in the long run you’ll want to give the full Block Editor or the Classic Block a workout as Staff have advised that the WordPress core development team do plan to retire this editor in the future. The more you use the Block Editor, the easier it will become. WordPress.com also published a guide specifically for writers and bloggers that you can find here https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor-for-writers-bloggers/
Hope that helps, but post back here if you have any other questions on this.
