Classic Editor Resetting Mode on Save Draft

The good classic editor now has a serious Save Draft problem. When I save a draft the view resets from Visual to Text – real annoying to need to click on the Visual tab every time a draft is saved, since I normally save a draft every few minutes, when you add this to the can’t pin the save / publish box to the top of the window – this really slows things down.
Is this a new conspiracy to get us to use the blue death beep beep junk editor?
I have tried this on two different blogs using two different themes, and the same result

Hm, I’m not seeing that myself now. I know this report is a week old, so maybe things have improved? If you’re still seeing that, please let me know!

I was using Firefox, current on Win Vista
But this morning was editing several older Posts and did not see this behavior – but I could not get the Classic Editor to stick, so Blue Death Editor had to load then click on classic

The new vs. old editor setting won’t stick for custom domains at the moment, we’re working on that.
At the moment, I highly recommend bookmarking [your-blog]/wp-admin/edit.php as the Edit links and Add New button will open in the classic editor.
