Classic Editor toolbar gone crazy.
-
I use Classic editor for my web site.
Recently my toolbar has started displaying weird icons instead of the globally accepted symbols for copy, undo, font, font colour etc.
These ‘symbols’ still retain the original functionality, but they bear no relation to the function.
There are three clock faces, a horses head, an airplane, a couple of faces, some red lips, a sailboat etc etc
If WordPress had the sense to include an ‘insert image’ into these forums it’d be easier to describe what I’m seeing.😡

WordPress.com DOES have the sense to include an “insert image”. There is an image block. “Print Screen” of what you’re seeing and place the image in your Media Library and paste it here!

@ratpatrol1 please share the address of the site you’re working on so we can make sure you’re getting relevant information.

Even easier, you can literally copy and then paste directly into the posting box here without needing to upload it anywhere or even use the block inserter’s “image” button. 🎁

/waves at @justjennifer. I didn’t know that! Probably better to copy/past it into a quote box though? Does it also work with screenshots and images? Couldn’t that be dangerous in the wrong hands when you might need to edit a screenshot first to remove personal information?
PS: Happy New Year
PPS: Still curious to see

I agree with you. But hopefully (?!) people have enough sense not to share personal or financial details in a very public forum. (And, yes, I bought the digital modlook t-shirt.) 😉
Happy New Year to you, too! 🎉✨

I would also argue that requiring a ‘box’ to be added to add a picture defies logic when people use Classic Editor because THEY DON’T KNOW how to use Block editor.
That said, I’m not a dummy and followed the instructions.
I also object strongly to having to resolve Word Press tech issues through a community. It’s the Microsoft principle of getting the customer to do the work.

Well, that’s certainly unusual. I’m not seeing it on my site’s Classic Editor nor have I seen any other reports like this from other site owners here in the community forums.
A few questions:
- Is this a new page you are creating or a previously published one you are editing?
- It looks like you might be on a mobile device? If so what browser and OS are you using?
- Have you tried accessing with a different browser to the one you normally use?
- Have you tried logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies (which will also log you out of any other site you may be logged into)?
- Have you scanned your computer for malware?

Re-booted many times.I checked another device with a later IOS – and it displayed correctly.
So its either the device or the IOS.
