CLASSIC EDITOR VANISHED!

You need to CREATE a post in Classic to be able to return to it and edit it in Classic. Creating a post just with “Add New” makes a Block post that cannot be backwards-compatible and edited in classic. Always use the “Add post” at the top along with the arrow next to it to toggle “Classic Editor” as per my earlier screenshot.

STOP-PRESS MAY HAVE FOUND YOUR DISCREPANCY!

Returning to writing I considered using/amending TEST 3 as it’s in Classic, but decided to try both ways of creating new post. ONE WORKS, THE OTHER FAILS!
Using left-hand sidebar’s ‘New Post’ successfully creates and retains Classic Editor –
but using ‘ADD POST’ button atop main Admin desktop screen does NOT save as Classic

CORRECTION: amend sidebar’s ‘New Post’ to read ‘Add Post’ – ie not to confuse with black top bar’s ‘+New…Post’ (which doesn’t save into Classic)

PS. THIS MAY BE SOLVE BUT WordPress needs to ensure best operational consistency for using Classic Editor as a priority. (Perhaps I should be paid for my investigation??)

THANK YOU, I hadn’t noticed that drop-down menu on Add Post and just tried it – OK :-)
