Classic editor’s text editor not working

Hi, our site was recently updated to latest WordPress (5.5) and since I noticed I could not enter the ‘text’ view in classic editor for drafts. This is true for both existing drafts and starting a new draft. This poses a huge problem for us because we need to access both visual and text editor to embed links in the latter (checking in preview mode while not letting me get back to text editor, the pasted embedded links don’t show correct media in the article).
Please advise on how to fix this issue. Further, there are other dropdown menus that do not respond (i.e. clicking ‘text’ tab or minimizing, say, the ‘publish’ box do not respond; entering tags do not work, they just refresh the page automatically).

We’re having the same exact problem too after going to 5.5. The text tab in posts isn’t working and dropdown on widgets isn’t showing up. We had to go back to 5.4.2.
