The link has been removed from the New Dash Editor by Staff.
If you have not done so already and would like to see the return of the link to the Classic Editor from within the New Post Editor, please post in this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-reinstate-the-option-of-choice-to-use-the-old-publishing-format/page/4?replies=97#post-2311491
In order to post directly in the Classic Post Editor, you can go to your site’s Dashboard>Posts>Add New.

H there,
Go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New
http://nationalconscience.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpThen, if you have cookies enabled on your browser your classic editor preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.

Hi there galois and justjennifer. :)
I have grown tired of trying to communicate with those who refuse to listen to the feedback that users have provided in thread after thread. I have become so incensed that I want to know:1. Who these developers are and whether or not they are on WordPress.COM full time Staff or they are contractors hired for specific projects.
2. What exactly is their mandate expressed in written form.
3. Does this project mandate have written terms that do include consulting end users directly regarding proposed and already executed changes that may have negative impacts on their desktop blogging experience?
Okay so you get where I am coming from. WTH is going here?
Who is the actual piper and where is the sheet music for the tune that is being played?
Why would any company that derives the majority of income from subscribers choose to be deaf to their paying customers’ feedback?
What are we being played over and over again?

My hubby and I are successful small business people, who are responsive to customer wants and needs, or we would not be successful. However, the mobile explosion is a phenomena that cannot be ignored.
According to CISCO there are more people on the planet packing mobile devices than those who actually own toothbrushes.
Read about the comScore results here http://techcrunch.com/2014/08/21/majority-of-digital-media-consumption-now-takes-place-in-mobile-apps/
Download the actual comScore results at http://www.comscore.com/Insights/Presentations-and-Whitepapers/2014/The-US-Mobile-App-ReportIt seems what’s going on here is that the WordPress.COM environment is being changed to favor mobile users and the changes are resulting in negative impacts on desktop users.

That’s quite a list, tt. Being that this change was introduced right before the weekend (Surprise! NOT!), I still hold out hope that TPTB will respond in the main thread on this topic once the work week commences tomorrow.
It still astonishes me how many people use(d) the link in the New Dash in order to get to the Classic Post Editor and never knew how to get to it directly in their Dashboard.
What I find particularly irresponsible is the global hijacking of the associated links in the Admin Bar without a way to return to the Classic Dashboard option once you get to the New Dash. And irksome that the Classic Post/Page Editors continue to display the “There’s now an easier way to create on WordPress.com! Switch to the improved posting experience” message without any way to dismiss it.
There is a lot to be said for separating the New Dash and the Classic Dash and providing a link (or better yet a server side setting) to allow users to choose where they want to go. If the New Dash was created for the mobile experience, then for sanity’s sake, make that the default when logging in from a smart device, but leave the Classic Dashboard for desktop/laptop IF the user chooses that option.
Now it’s time to go read something humorous and enjoy the rest of my evening.

@justjennifer
I hear you. As for enjoying the rest of your evening I surely hope that’s the case. My blogging experience and the blogging experience of other desk top users has been negatively impacted by the introduction of these unannounced and unwelcome changes. For Staff to suggest that they are intent on improving our blogging experience and then watch them ignore all feedback from desktop users is witnessing crazy-making selective listening behavior. And, that patterned behavior has led to me falling out of love with blogging here. -
Update:
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor.
