Classic Stats: How to set TWO, not closed.

  Is it just me, or is it not possible to rearrange the stats boxes? It would make the transition easier because the order of the boxes are currently mirrored from what they were in the old page. Plus, it can be considered a regression because the old page allowed for reordering the boxes.

  For those interested, I hacked together a Stylish script to collapse the menu and increase the width of the stats area:

  The modules are not currently movable. It’s something that has been brought up with the developers though. Once again, no promises on if it will happen, but it is being discussed. :)

  @jontobey – I’m happy to listen to any feedback you have. Is there something specific you’ve brought up that we haven’t responded to?

  That the non mobile people were perfectly happy and didn’t need any improvements.
  That the design is not responsive.
  Etc., etc. I’m not sure how the mobile people feel because I will never use this on a mobile device. Which is why I feel particularly strongly about having a poor design (for my form factor) forced upon me.
  Maybe it’s a great mobile experience. But it’s a crappy desktop experience and I haven’t read anybody thanking you for it or showing any appreciation for it.
  I would just scrap this iteration and move on to something that is actually user-driven.

  I’ve written yet another set of hacks to improve the stats experience while we wait. One is to move the old stats link back to the top, and the other is to force a redirect to the old stats page.

  It’s really sad the direction WP is moving. It’s certainly causing me to look at moving to a different platform that takes desktop use seriously.
