classic vs block editor

I have a travelogue blog with many entries builtusing classic editor. I would prefer they not be converted to block editor should I choose the block editor going forward. Is this possible, or will they be auto converted?

In otherwords, how can I have both classic and block within my blog?

  • Hi there,

The block editor will become the default editor on your site, as it has already been in the open source WordPress software since version 5.5 came out in December 2018. But posts created in the classic editor won’t be automatically modified to be changed into blocks. That will only happen if you open a specific post for editing in the block editor, at which point the content will be placed inside a Classic Block, with the option to convert it to regular blocks.

If you want to edit those existing posts using the classic editor, you can do so via the Posts list in WP-Admin, at https://onmywaytothere.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php

So bookmark that link, and make sure you always go there to edit. If you edit from the posts list in My Sites, it will always load the block editor instead.
