    I’m having a bash at a project, a site (not blog) that I can get as templated from here but customize to my own.. say, listings site.

    Let’s say user1 needs to sign up and sell a gold ring, user2 wants to sign up and sell a hoover – is there features here to allow that use (or with a database add-on)? Iv looked but no joy yet

No retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed.

    I am sorry, but advertising is not allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. The only exceptions are for high traffic blogs that qualify for and are accepted into the Ad Control program, and very high traffic blogs that qualify and are accepted into the paid VIP hosting program.
