Clean_Home — footer issue

  • Unknown's avatar

Just applied Clean Home on my blog. It’s a very nice theme.

I just don’t get it … why the footer text ends up in the right column. It causes a horizontal scroll bar!

I’ve tried and made all images smaller, even though none of them were sticking out, outside the main column.

Please, can somebody help me?! Thanks in advance…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you been CSS editing this theme? If so then do note that we are not allowed to either hide or remove the footer link credit to the theme designer or the link to wordpress.com.

No, no way … I don’t have that function — I have the free wp.

I just applied it … and immediately noticed the scroll bar!

Thanks for replying. As you have not CSS edited the theme, I am seeing the problem you see and it needs to be reported to Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Thank you! (What a great forum this is, by the way) I will do that right away.

But isn’t it weird?! … I applied it to my test site first to see what it was like, and it worked brilliantly. So it must be something in my blog — thought some image was too big — but it isn’t that. Then I removed the typekit. Didn’t help.

I thought you had either edited the CSS on this theme or on another one and then switched to Vertigo and forgot to remove the CSS modifications. At least we have eliminated those two as possible causes.

Nerts! I just typed “Vertigo” rather than “Clean Home” because I just answered another Vertigo question. **headesk** :(

well … we’ll see what the staff people say..

It will take some time for them to get back to you. There are millions of us out here and they have many support tickets in their queue. Bye for now. :)

This could be due to an open HTML tag in a post.

Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, switch from the visual tab to the HTML tab (waiting for the page to refresh) and then switch back to the visual tag (again waiting for it to refresh), and then click “update post.” Check your blog and if it is back to normal, you are golden. If not, open the next post and do the same thing till it goes back to normal.

It’s all sorted out!!! It was an open div-tag in one of my text widgets. All is well.

    Thanks so much!
