clear site – install custom template

    I have purchased a custom template from Envato Market but cannot seem to figure out how to install it. I’m guessing part of the problem may be that I already selected a free template from WordPress, but not sure??? Will clearing my chosen template/content allow me to change the style of my site to the custom template? If not, any advice on how to do that would be appreciated. I keep trying to import, but receive an error message about the file type; the template’s directions say to go under Appearance – Templates – Add New Template but all I can pull up are the WordPress options.

    Under Appearance – Templates – Add New Template there is a button “Upload theme”. You have to upload your theme as a .zip file, so it should work.

    I think WordPressdotcom should make it much clearer, probably with a “sticky” at the top of the forums, that you can’t purchase a theme elsewhere and expect to use it with your free site here.
