Click on a category in my blog, you get a BAD thing
-
I have a category which is a link called Everything else, look on my topmost post. When I clicked upon it, it brought me to a page that looked like this,
http://www.jcdouglass.net/horridwordpresslink/horrid.jpg
This is a screenshot to show what it did.
I CANNOT have horrid stuff like this on my family blog.
If you can tell me and my classmates how to get rid of this, then I wont have to delete my blog. The odd thing is that one of my blogging instructors clicked on it to test it, and the link took her to the parts of my blog which were that category properly. But on all our home Mac computers, we got this a**hole thing.
Please let us know how to resolve this! Or at least make all my categories unlinked.
Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is how global categories work: they link to the Global Category page. The Sidebar Category Widget links only within your blog, but the links on the posts will link to the Global Tag pages, over which you have no control, unless you do the following:
Use the iNove theme. Or set your privacy so you’re invisible to search engines.

http://capecodhome.wordpress.com/2010/01/08/silly-but-cute-cartoon/ ?
and the category is http://en.wordpress.com/tag/all/ all
-
Is this your blog?
http://capecodhome.wordpress.com/It appears to be connecting to the global tag for “everything else”
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/everything-else/
When a person clicks on a category in your sidebar, it takes the reader to the posts on your blog in that category.
The links on top of each post go to global tags.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/Opt out by making your privacy setting to allow public access but not to search engines. (or make it private)
I just reported it as mature content.

Whew, thank you!
I blocked the search engines! That is great, I didnt realize that we could do that, it solves the problem! No more of those irrelevant things, the cartoon is OK, the grandkids have seen it hanging on the wall, and have not a clue what the shark is doing.
But the other stuff, the nasty site, is now gone.
And there wont be any more links, as I stripped out my categories. They say uncategorized, and its not a link, which is just fine by me.
Thanks again -
I took the shark post out, wouldnt be too long till my grandkids will know what the shark is doing.
Thanks for hinting about it, its best not in there.
Tis gone. -
It’s not necessary to remove your categories if you have blocked search engines. Doing that took your blog out of those potentially surprising links.

Ok, I will add my categories back in sometime later, but my uncategorized one is not a link, and I will stick with that for a while, makes me feel a bit safer.
Thanks again.
Im pretty new at this, and it sure is confusing, the dashboard is more like an airbus than a car to me. -
I understand. It’s a lot to take in at once.
At some point you will most likely want to use categories to help your readers find the posts they want to read, and you will feel safe enough to do it!
Happy blogging… -
Thank you, I will do this, as dogs and photos are probably the first ones I will put back in.
Solved.
