Client ?
-
I need to build a client a website. Do they have to get their own wordpress account, or can I do it from my own wordpress and transfer to them? How does that work? Please advise, thank you.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi! If you’re hosting here on WordPress.com, then either would work – the client could handle the initial site/plan sign-up and invite you as an administrator; or you could do the initial sign-up as well as website creation, and then transfer the site/plan/domain ownership to your client.
As it is, this is the information regarding inviting an additional administrator to manage a site:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/invite-people/Should you decide to do both website sign-up as well as the design, you can then invite your client to have their own WordPress.com account which administrates the site, and then you can transfer ownership of the site, and any associated domain:

I understand you started a different thread here, and mentioned Bluehost there (who are a separate company to WordPress.com):
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/client-question/In that case it’s likely going to be a bit different – you’ll likely want to clarify with your client whether you or they are responsible for the ongoing hosting and domain costs and therefore who should be the main ‘account holder’ with your host and domain provider.
