Client Question

I am on a challenge to build a website for a client as my first site. Thank God they love and trust me. I have been spending a lot of time on wpbegginers.com and had my client sign up to bluehost as it seems to be mostly favored. I will be switching my godaddy domains over to that as well once I complete this first challenge.
What I would like to know is, does the client also need to get a WordPress account or do I build it off my own wordpress account then transfer it. Please advise.
Also did I make a mistake, should I be on the .org site building a website as I see only Manage Blogs on the side bar here on the .com site. Please advise, and Thank you!

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  • Hey there @1vlady , congrats on this new adventure! I’d recommend reading this article, as it goes in-depth on the differences between our managed hosting services & the free WordPress software.

You could also use a WordPress.com account with some of our other services, like Gravatar, Jetpack, or our Calypso dashboard (which can be handy for managing multiple sites, whether they are hosted with us or not!). And, if you’re using your own copy of WordPress, you’ll also want to set up an account at WordPress.org so you have access to the community support there.

Let us know what questions you have!
