Add topic to favorites
Hi WordPress.com,

I have a client that uses your services for his hosting.
I need to upload a new theme (Avada) copy all of his current blog post and data to the new theme without deleting removing his current website.

I need cpanel login to create a sub directory (www.website.com/demo)
wordpress installation, upload theme, etc..

Or How can I do this?

You cannot do this.

Themes cannot be uploaded to WordPress.com. Cpanels cannot be used with WordPress.com blogs. You do not have access to the directories at WordPress.com.

It’s easy to import a blog to WordPress.com, but only the contents come over, nothing else. http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

I need to retrieve that data to create a membership site.
How can I take the client files and transfer them a cpanel account?
How can I get access to the directories at WordPress.com or to speak to someone that has access?

Do I give your support the login details to the account so you can transfer them?

The only way I know now is to
1. backup the wordpress database,
2. Use a test domain that has cpanel on it.
3. Install wordpress on the cpanel account
4. Upload the wordpress database and info
5. Work on website till completed.
6. Point dignityserves.org to the new completed wordpress website.

What do you think and do you know of any other options?

Let me repeat: You cannot do this on a WordPress.com site.

Buy paid hosting and install WordPress.ORG software.

Okay but how can I get the files off the wordpress.com server so I can put them on the paid hosting and install wordpress.org software?
