Cloak or shorten link

    I am using my WP blog in place of an article manager for my own writings. Apparently I can include text links to my own sites and to vendors not on WP’s sh**** list, but mouseover shows too much. Is there any easy way to cloak or shorten affiliate links in blogs without loss of speed? Diverting to a script on my host is not a speedy solution. I know several solutions in plain vanilla HTML.
