Clone WP, but add unique content at same time?
-
After cloning a WP site (by using a clone tool) I want to change some content so that the new site is nearly identical, but is for a different business entity – eg different domain, business name and address and different hyperlinks for images.
It is a ‘thin’ site with little content.
Without using a plugin, is it possible to use ‘search and replace’ to replace the above data? What files do I need to apply the search and replace to?
I need to create about 5 ‘individual clones’
Happy to take suggestions about plugin’s that might do this, but would be keen to know what files to work on manually.
Thanks CK

We need the URL of the site you want to clone to give you an accurate answer and the type of business it is for.

Thanks for your reply.
I have not created the site yet.
Interested to know why the URL and type of business would make any difference to the process of ‘duplicating’ a WP site?
Thanks ckxion

Because we need to know if you are asking about a WordPress.COM or a WordPress.ORG site. There are differences between the two.

Please note, this forum is for wp.COM only. If your business site is to be self hosted then you need to use the wp.ORG support forums.

Thanks for directing me to wp.com
I have no idea what “And also if what you want to do will be allowed by the Terms of Service” means
Thanks

If you are talking about a WP.org site, you need to be asking at WP.org. Adsense is banned here.
