Close a post to further comments

  Is there a way to do this? Lock a thread, so to speak. I don’t want to delete the comments, just prevent further posts.

  If there isn’t a way to do this, I’ll request it thru feedback.

  Yep – just edit the post and uncheck ‘allow comments’ should close it.

  Podz, I think that that removes the current comments though.

  Edit: Nope, my mistake. It leaves them but addes in the “Comments are closed” line.

  Thanks! I’ll be using that from now on!

  FYI – On the Regulus theme, I don’t get a “Comments are closed” line. Instead, the add comments box just disappears. See this post

  The “Comments are closed” line comes out of the theme, not the standard WP code. For some reason, the designer didn’t put it in there. I wonder if he realizes it. Maybe Bob will pick up on this thread. He’s here on occasion. :)
