  There are a number of steps you can take to “close” your account and ensure that it, and any sites associated with your account, remain inaccessible and inactive to both you and the public:

  Empty Site
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
  Delete Site
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
  Remove personal information from Account Settings
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-settings/
  Change your password to a random string
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
  Unsubscribe to any WordPress.com email notifications
  https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions

  Also take note, while the above steps will help you lock up your account, there is no way to permanently delete an account. Please refer to the following documentation regarding this policy:
