Hi. I’ve been trying to cancel my account and domain but I find it rather confusing. So, can I do this the ‘old fashioned’ way and just ask Customer Service to do it? I was recently charge an auto-renew but that was refunded via PayPal. I no longer use or want the account, and want to ensure you won’t try to charge me again next January. Thanks.

Deleting a WordPress.com site
If you are looking to delete your WordPress.com site, you will have to remove these upgrades (if any) first: Premium or Business Plan, Custom Domain, Domain Mapping, Premium Theme, or any other upgrade. These can be done on this page https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
When you are done doing this, visit this page and click on the “Delete your site permanently” button at the bottom. Follow the on-screen instructions to delete your WordPress.com site.

Hi there,
It looks like you managed to cancel the upgrades yourself. You can completely delete your site at My Site ->Settings.
It’s not possible to delete your username account, but you can remove all personal information you added, and optionally deactivate your account by locking it up with a strong, random password. Please see the link @shubhamgmath posted above for more info.
