  I’d like to close my account but do not have the option in my settings. I am just being asked to contact support which then leads me to the public forums. Can anyone help?

  Hi @frlweckner,

  If you do not see the “Close your account permanently” option, this means you have an active plan or domain on your account.

  If you have a WordPress.com plan or other upgrade, you will need to cancel active purchases before you can close your account. This can be done on the Manage Purchases of your account. Some sites on a Business plan may need to contact support to complete an account closure.

  Hi there,

  To close your account you need to be removed from the site space9811.wordpress.com. That site is owned by another WordPress.com account and therefore you need to contact the owner and ask them to remove you by following these instructions:

  https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/#removing-users

  Once this is done, you’ll be able to close your account.
