  Hi there,

  You can permanently close your WordPress.com account from your Account Settings screen at https://wordpress.com/me/account/close

  Please note that closing your account deletes all sites you own and all their contents. After a few weeks, the data will be entirely purged from our system, and at this point, the process cannot be reversed.

  Hi there,
  In addition to @varshasc’s comment, closing your account also shuts down your username and deletes all your WordPress.com sites and their contents. This action cancels your entire WordPress.com presence. If you proceed with this action, you would not be able to use your account’s email address to sign up for a new WordPress.com account for 30 days.

  Also note that your username cannot be re-used after closure.

  You might want to consider some less drastic steps such as
  1) Empty your site. The instructions can be found here:

  2) You could also delete an individual site using this instruction:
  https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
  3) You also have the flexibility to change your username.
  https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/
  4) You could also unsubscribe from WordPress.com email notifications, by going to your subscription settings(https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions) and checking the box that says Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com.
