    It’s doesn’t let me close the account I need to deactivate all subscriptions this is the message I’m getting
    (This user account cannot be closed while it has active subscriptions.)

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi,

    You can close and remove your subscriptions from your Manage Purchases page (https://wordpress.com/me/purchases) > Simply select the purchase > select “Cancel Purchase” then select “Remove Purchase”. Once you have removed all your active purchases from the account, you will be able to delete the account itself as well.

    Please note, however, that if you are canceling your domain subscription as well, you will permanently lose access to it, so it’s best to first transfer it to a new hosting company if you decide to not keep it hosted with WordPress.com.
