  Hello,

  I would like to close this account permanently, please.

  Hi there,

  You can permanently close your WordPress.com account from your Account Settings screen:

  This not only shuts down your username, it deletes all the sites you own and all their contents. After a few weeks, this data will be entirely purged from our servers and the process cannot be reversed. Therefore, please be certain you want to cancel your entire WordPress.com presence before proceeding.

  It is possible to reverse an account closure for the first 30 days after an account is closed. If you realize you closed your account in error, please contact us immediately.

  I have tried this and receive the following message.

  “Close Account

  Account closure cannot be undone. It will remove your account along with all your sites and their content.

  You will not be able to open a new WordPresscom account using the same email address for 30 days.

  To close the account now, please contact our support team. (this part is a link and leading me here).”

  There are no active plans, so I don’t understand why I cannot simply delete the account. Please help.
