  I want to close down my account but am told I should contact support. can you help me please?

  Hi there,

  Have a look here for the steps to be taken care of while closing an account : https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

  Also, If you close your account, all the sites you own will be deleted, and you will not be able to use the same site address again with another account.

  Also, please note that these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only.

  It looks like you have an active Akismet subscription in your account. You’ll need to cancel that before you’ll be able to close your account.
