Close Image when opened in a post / Hemingway rewritten Theme
-
Hi,
Is anyone would know how to add a close option when an image is open in a post ?
Right know when you click on the image you are in a new window and the only way to leave the page is the return button in my browser…
Thx
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Link each image to an attachment page or to a media file. Then when you open an image, do so by right clicking and opening in an new window or a tab. Then the image or attachment page may be closed by either clicking on the “X” at the top right in (Windows) Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer browsers, or by clicking on the “x” on the tab.
The above will work whether you open the image from an editor or from a public page or post.

Thanks for your time, but what i meant was for people visiting my blog. Seems to have no possibilities to way around this…

The only thing I can suggest on that would be to use a Gallery, instead of inserting the images directly into the post. What you would do would be to add only that single image to the Gallery and then when someone clicked on that image, it would open in the Carousel as an overlay on the page, and they could then click the close button to exit the Carousel overlay, and still be on the same page. For more information on the Gallery, click here.

Yes i saw that. Thanks. But in this case, with the Gallery, how do you manage to insert the image in the content to fit with text, like you do with an single image surrounding by text ?
I don’t if i make myself clear… like single images in this page for example.

Yeah, that is the problem using a gallery with only one post, you can’t wrap text around it. I’m afraid at this time, there isn’t really an option. The only think I can think of is set the image to open in a new window/tab and that way they could just close that tab.

@ thesacredpath,
The only think I can think of is set the image to open in a new window/tab and that way they could just close that tab.
Thanks. I had forgotten about that option, in “Advanced Settings.” That’s an important step which I omitted. However, I found that it only works in the manner the member wants — when a visitor left clicks on an image, if I understand correctly — if you also set the image to link to an “Attachment Page.” It doesn’t work if you link to “Media File,” or “None.” I think linking to a “Custom URL” is irrelevant in this case.

Weird thing that there is no simple X to close an image when opened… seems so common today !
Well thanks everyone !
