  Have tried endlessly to CLOSE account; no success. DID not set up blog, only email and pw. But want to delete these. HOW DO I DO THIS?

  Hi there,

  I don’t see any reason that would prevent you from closing your account. Do you see any error messages when you try?
  Can you confirm that you’re following these steps?

  Thanks, but that won’t work. Am told it is because I never set up an actual BLOG or website. Am only trying to delete the email/password I set up when I thought I wanted to become a wordpress client, since deciding I do not. The WP email is NOW stopping me from commenting on many other WP and non-WP blogs and in general, just causing a big mess. WP support has not helped to advise on how to delete only an email/pw set up which is all I need to know right now. Thanks again for your reply.

  Following the instructions given by the member of staff above will delete this zoolatrygmailcom account you are currently logged in to here at WordPress.com. Is that what you wish to do? If you wish to delete a gmail email address then you need to be logged in to gmail.

  WP support has not helped to advise on how to delete only an email/pw set up which is all I need to know right now.

  You can set up a WordPress.com user account without having any sites associated with the account. You can also delete that account at any time you choose by following the steps here:

  https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

  I pulled up the email you sent to Support and you were also advised on June 9 that you can delete your WordPress.com user account despite not having any websites associated with it – quote:

  Only sites you have hosted with us would be deleted, however, you do not have any sites with us at WordPress.com. We are unable to access, change, or delete any sites you may have set up with other hosting companies. Since you don’t have any sites with us, you can delete the account by logging in at this link:

  https://wordpess.com/me/account

  Please follow the steps to delete your account and if you have trouble, let us know.
