  Thanks for the response. That is exactly what I have done, and it does not close my account, it sends me to a discussion forum which tells me to do that again. I just want to close my account permanently, and need someone from WordPress to close it or tell me how. Thanks for your help.

  @lisbonla, are you trying to delete the account that you are logged in here with or a different account?

  There was a glitch in our system preventing you from closing your accounts using the steps in our documentation. It has been corrected and you’ll now be able to follow the steps to delete your WordPress.com site and optionally your account by following the steps here:
